After running Detective Coating for 17 years, I found myself wanting to build something more creative. One day, while looking at a stack of unused steel barrels in my shop, I had an idea—why not turn them into unique pieces of furniture? I started experimenting, cutting and shaping the barrels into chairs and tables, then adding vibrant powder coatings and custom decals to give each piece a personal touch. It was exciting to bring my industrial expertise into something artistic and functional. What started as a fun project quickly grew into a full-fledged business as people began asking for their own custom designs, and that’s how my second venture was born.
